Listening Blog; week 7

Alright alright alright, for this wonderful week of listening blogs, I chose to listen to "Fun Fun Fun" by The Beach Boys. I would listen to this song along with the rest of the beach boys hits from a very young age. I was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California and the beach boys were just a part of living there and their music resonated with most of the residence in the community. When it comes to the song, I enjoy the different ranges of notes the group hits. From high, to a seemingly regular tone, their range is really something. The intro to the song makes me feel like im back in the car with my sisters and mom taking us to the beach in the summer. When i was younger i never knew that a T-bird was a car, i really thought it was a bird. So i was super sad that this girl got her bird taken away. Turns out, as i discovered later in my life, she had fun fun fun until her dad took the car away. sounds about right. I think back in those times having a car and driving around with your friends was the thing to do. Post up at the drive in or cruise down pacific coast highway and just relax. Granted i was not alive during the 60s or 70s, but the feel of the song and the beat makes this a ride along song in my opinion. I think the beach boys were great for the overall music industry and were true pioneers alongside the beatles. I think their surfer image and the time they released their music fit perfectly. they did stray from their beach boy ways with good vibrations but i think overall the song fun fun fun by the beach boys is an instant banger.

  1. I definitely agree that this week's song choices were much better and are getting better! I also like the Beach Boys, but I have to say I'd side with the Beatles haha! And the only reason I knew what a T-Bird was, was because my dad had one when he was in college and used to talk about it all the time, but that's hilarious!

  2. I like that you have a persona connection with this song and style of music. I have to agree with Kam though. I am with the Beatles.
